Riverstone / Slate / Quartz / Schist
Slate and Schist are types of metamorphic rocks, and are derived from clays and muds. They are very closely related, and are often confused for each other. They are often used for walkways and wall cladding, but slate can also be used for a roof.
Riverstone is a soft stone, closely related to pebbles, is mainly used outdoors in walkways, gardens, and pools.
Quartz is a mineral, and has a crystalline structure. Its sturdy nature and beautiful colours makes it a very popular stone for outdoor use, such as pavers, pool tiles, and water features.
